I’ve Always Been a Maker

I have always loved creating. I have always loved writing, drawing, painting, decorating, making outfits, working with clay, projects, PowerPoint slideshows, scrap-booking. My favorite things to do are writing and drawing, however. When I was a little girl I drew pictures of girls with arms coming out of their head. When I was a preteen I drew… cholas. (Hey, I lived in South San Jose in the 90’s, what can I say?) When I was a teenager, I drew fantasy characters and anime. I would draw all the time. I drew more than 500 pictures in one summer (and yes, I took the time to count.) So yeah, as you see I enjoy creating.

5:2 Update

You may have noticed that I posted about week one and I stopped. I realized that I prefer to weigh myself once a month. I’ve tried everything. Weigh once a week, weighing everyday. But psychologically I do better when I don’t think about my weight everyday. The downside, I am unable to tweak my eating habits midweek and get back on track.

Reflecting on Lent: Stature, Wisdom, and Grace

Lent went by so fast, didn’t it? Praise God it’s Easter time!

You may have read my previous post about how I was focusing on being more present with my kids and focusing on discipline. Why did I focus on discipline for Lent? First, I know I can be lazy in regard to it, and I am committed to loving my children well. When it comes to discipline, sometimes I’d rather ignore the behavior or prevent the situation from happening by having the T.V. on. Hey, I’m being honest.
